MGH / Ragon Institute Study Advances Understanding of HIV Elite Controllers

Researchers Gain New Insight Into How Elite Controllers’ Immune Systems Block HIV Life Cycle

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, June 11, 2014 — Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard today reported new advances in our understanding of the mechanisms by which the immune systems of so-called “elite controllers” fight HIV. Researchers at the Ragon Institute have been focusing on these rare individuals, who make up less than 1% of those infected with the deadly virus, since 2006. J2 is proud to have contributed to the early development of the immunology database application used by Ragon Institute investigators to manage research workflows and analyze assay results across patient cohorts.
