The Children’s Hospital Association represents more than 220 children’s hospitals and works to advance child health through innovations in the quality, cost and delivery of care. The Association is the premier resource for pediatric data and analytics, driving improved clinical and operational performance and championing public policies that enable hospitals to better serve children. Comparative data analysis is one of five core capabilities through which CHA monitors and improves its performance, its efficiency, and the quality of care it delivers to its young patients.
CHA enlisted J2’s help with its Children’s Hospital Neonatology Database, a strategic initiative to capture and analyze demographic and clinical data on all NICU patients admitted at 26 participating children’s hospitals. Using InterSystems’ Ensemble integration platform, J2 developed a solution that imports data directly from each hospital’s EMR, resulting in greater efficiency, reduced costs, and substantial improvements to data integrity. J2 also provided best-practices recommendations on improving CHA’s Ensemble development environment and related systems infrastructure, and conducted comprehensive training to ensure that CHA resources were ready to maintain and enhance the Ensemble solution.
