An oldie but a goodie.
I look forward to Halloween all year, and for the first time, I went as the iconic Morticia Addams. Something about the Addams family—they transcend generations and remain en vogue year after year. You can never really go wrong dressing up as someone from their family.
But crafting something that will stand the test of time, that will remain relevant not just year to year but decade to decade is no small feat. Yet, that is what we aim to do in healthcare technology every day.
As we traveled from Civitas in LA, to Vulcan in Copenhagen, and NCQA in San Diego (getting our miles in!) I really felt that sentiment—that healthcare technology is built to last, built to remain relevant and timeless generation to generation, all while adapting to new needs.
Standards based interoperability and the data platforms that make up the inner workings of HIEs- these are parts of our industry that are synonymous with the successful sharing of information, much like the Addams family is with Halloween.
While conferences always focus discussions on “what’s next” and “how do we solve XYZ,” it was also an absolute delight to spend some time talking about what people have been able to do with technology and data, how they’ve been able to be successful, and how a really good standard, or a really good technology really will become a timeless oldie but goodie.
We’re so pleased we could celebrate these successes with everyone at the conferences!
