J2 Interactions Newsletter | June '25

Summer is finally upon us!

June always brings the best excuses to gather with friends and family: graduations, holidays, cookouts, sunshine, and, of course, the greatest conference of the year: InterSystems Ready 2025, a Global Summit.

It brings together some of the biggest names in healthcare—genuine thought leaders who are creating the next big things. As a tech leader specializing in delivering what healthcare needs, it’s the kind of quality you come to expect with InterSystems.

And it was that theme of “quality” that stood out to me as I listened to keynotes and spent time with all our clients. Quality in thought leadership, in data utilization, in interoperability, in advancing patient care, and in the relationships we’ve built over 20 years of making healthcare data work for care teams. I think that’s why I love the InterSystems annual summit so much: it’s a week of celebrating the accomplishments of the past year while simultaneously laying the groundwork for the year ahead, ensuring a high standard of quality in our healthcare systems.

Not seeing the quality you want? We can help raise the bar—just hit reply!

InterSystems Global Summit: READY 2025

Do you go to conferences to reconnect with people, or to glimpse the future of tech before it hits the mainstream?

At InterSystems Ready 2025, you didn’t have to choose—it delivered both.

AI took center stage, but it was camaraderie that brought everyone together. Over at the J2 booth, it felt more like a reunion than a trade show—hugs, socks, and York peppermint patties welcomed longtime friends and customers who stopped by to catch up and learn what’s new.

One highlight? Our new initiative, Healthy Systems, Healthy People. For $5,000, we’ll send a systems architect to assess your HealthShare environment and ensure it's optimized. And the “Healthy People” part? For every customer who signs up, we’re partnering with a charity to provide a free wellness visit to a family who wouldn’t otherwise have access to basic care. Want in? Just reply to this email.

The keynotes were rich with vision—bold, creative ideas to improve patient outcomes in the near future. And on the show floor, it wasn’t just talk. We were laying the groundwork for one of the most meaningful applications of interoperability since the Triple Aim: Connecting SDOH and HRSN data in ways that reach and uplift our most vulnerable communities.

The system is in place. Now it’s time to put it to work—for people.

Celebrate Summer With Some Tasty Recipes!

We asked J2 employees to share their favorite summer recipes, and Senior Consultants Don Pfotenhauer and Steve LeBlanc delivered. Enjoy these tasty recipes, courtesy of them!

Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp fresh ground black pepper

1.) Combine all ingredients in a ziplock bag, massage to mix and coat, then let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

2.) Grill at a high temperature, flipping occasionally (I cook for about 5-7 minutes per side) until the internal temperature reaches 165°F or higher.

3.) Serve on salads, in wraps, or over rice or pasta. Great chilled for hot summer meals.

Creamy Greek Pasta Salad

1 lb pasta – I prefer cavatappi, but any type works (such as bowties, orzo, or fusilli).
½ red onion, diced
1 cucumber, peeled and diced
1 bell pepper, diced
1 cup grape tomatoes, sliced
1 cup feta, diced
½ cup Kalamata olives, pitted and chopped
¼ cup parsley, chopped

For the dressing

½ cup mayo
½ cup Greek yogurt
1 lemon, zest and juice
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
¼ cup olive oil
1 tbsp dried oregano
A dash of salt and pepper to taste

1.) Cook the pasta – I recommend cooking for a few minutes MORE than the instructions. Overcooking it prevents it from seizing up and getting too firm once cooled in the fridge. Once done cooking, strain and run under cold water until cool, then let sit to dry for a bit.

2.) Whisk the dressing ingredients. Be sure to zest the lemon before juicing.

3.) Combine the pasta, all the chopped/diced ingredients, and dressing, and mix thoroughly.

4.) Refrigerate for one to two hours or overnight. Give it a good stir before serving
